In the recent months we have had issues with private parties not showing up on time. Unfortunately we will be having to enact and enforce new polices to ensure everyone is on the same page and treated fairly. 1. All private parties(other than Christmas Festival) are a 2 hour time slot. That is 15 minutes to load, 15 minutes to unload, and 1.5 hours on the water. That means if you have a 6pm private party, boarding starts at 5:45. We leave the dock at your (6pm) party time. Please plan accordingly. If your party is running late, your time will not be made up. Meaning if we don't leave the dock until 6:15 we will still be arriving back at the dock at 7:30. NO EXCEPTIONS If you want extra time on the water, show up at your loading time, get signed in and we can get on the water. 2. All private parties are now subjected to a minimum 25% non refundable deposit (unless we cancel for weather or mechanical issues) that must be paid 2 weeks in advance. If food is involved there is a $50 (cash) refundable cleaning deposit due at the boat the day of your party. If no mess is made/ everything is cleaned up you will get it back. 3. There is a party minimum, meaning even if you don't have 20 people you will still have to pay for 20 people in order to have a private party. 4. One other issue we have had is smoking. There is no smoking/vaping on the boat. The captain gives people time to smoke before departure. If anyone is caught smoking/vaping there will be 2 warnings given. The 3rd time there will be no warning and the boat will go back to the dock, Cutting your trip short with no refund on any paid portion. You are responsible for your guests, please plan accordingly. 5. Excessive vulgar language in music is not allowed, we will limit volume of music if this rule isn't followed. Please keep it appropriate. 6. During Christmas Festival all parties are 45 minutes. If your party time is at 4pm boarding starts at 3:45 the boat leaves at 4. Same rules above apply with time not being made up/wanting extra time. We try our best to be accommodating as possible. However we can not continue to allow parties to still get their 1.5 hours if they aren't showing up on time, as it could potentially cause other parties to run late. We hope this doesn't cause any hardship while booking. If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to call or text 318-663-7787 Thank you for taking the time to read this.

A paddle wheel is an engine-driven, turning mechanism that propels a boat, usually a steamboat, but for simplicity purposes; The Cane River Queen, through the water. It's known as a waterwheel. Scoop-shaped paddles, or buckets, are attached around the outer edge of the wheel's circle. Each bucket, or scoop, connects to a spoke; the spokes all meet at a round hub section in the center of the paddle wheel.
